Some good teaser information on possible points of value. Might be worth digging into the possible value $ amounts. PV is still more expensive than the grid so I wonder how it can scale. Wind costs the same or less than a new carbon power plant and storage can improve the value via firming power. I'm not sure that solar can do the same. I'm going to have to think it through....

Heavenly Horizon ~天の水平線~

An amazing picture from a college friend, Jon Sheer. I love the world that we live in because I can stay in contact with friends from years ago that I'd never normally be connected to. Jon lives in Japan.

My view on the world has expanded due to the connections that I have (re)made. 20 years ago we only had our little islands of self and nearby friends, but the advent of Facebook, Twitter, blogging, etc has allowed us to be better connected and to "see" more of the world than we could have before.

I think that the world will be better off for it. Folks in leadership positions should take heed - nothing is hidden long.

Shouldn't technology just be easy? I think that it might be otherwise due to the short term focus of public companies. Take your time to do something right or push it out to improve your immediate cash flow? Apple is different because of King Jobs.

Melissa Scott

http://galacticsouth.blogspot.com/
I hadn't picked up a new Science Fiction book in years. I guess at some level I'm too cheap to buy more books when I haven't read all the ones that I have and that I've been so disappointed in my recent purchases.

So in trying to dig up a new author, I figured that I'd check what my old fav's were up to. Not finding any new Melissa Scott books, I'm down to reading Melissa's blog. It's not quite the same but will do until I can dig up some new favorites.
